Iran’s Parliament Speaker Says US Voters Have Rejected War
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has described the results of the US midterm elections as a rejection of war, following major Democratic gains in Congress.
In a statement published on his official X account on Wednesday, Ghalibaf said American voters had sent a message against war, linking their position to concerns over living costs and opposition to military conflict.
“Whether out of conscience or because of the cost of living, Americans said no to war, and we endorse this message,” he wrote.
Ghalibaf also warned the US administration against ignoring public opinion and pursuing policies that could lead to further military confrontation with Iran.
His remarks came after the Democratic Party’s gains in both chambers of Congress, marking a significant political setback for President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
