Turkish MP Urges Action to Protect Woman Reportedly Held in Kabul
Bareen Media – A Turkish lawmaker has called on the government to take urgent action to protect Cansu Badur, a Turkish citizen reportedly being held against her will in Kabul.
Dilan Kunt Ayan, a member of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly, submitted a formal written question to Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan asking what steps have been taken to protect Badur and secure her return to Türkiye.
The submission says there has been no contact with Badur since September 26 and asks why her return has not yet been secured.
Badur has previously said she was subjected to violence after marrying an Afghan man and that her passport and identity documents were destroyed, preventing her from leaving Afghanistan.
The lawmaker has asked the Foreign Ministry to explain what diplomatic measures are being taken to protect Badur’s safety and facilitate her return to Türkiye.
