Afghan National Sentenced to 35 Years in U.S. Prison in Child Exploitation Case
BAREEN Media – An Afghan national living in Arlington, Texas, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to producing and possessing child sexual abuse material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas said Badshah Sahi, 21, was sentenced on September 29. The 420-month federal sentence will run consecutively to his outstanding state proceedings.
According to court documents, Sahi was arrested in February 2025 after police investigated allegations involving a 14-year-old girl. Investigators later found images and videos involving children on his phone and evidence of online communications with minors.
Court records also indicate that Sahi used the online gaming platform Roblox to pressure a 10-year-old child into creating and sending sexually explicit videos. Investigators identified additional communications involving a 15-year-old girl in Texas.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and several local law enforcement agencies in Texas.
An HSI official said the defendant had entered the United States during the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal and alleged that he had been admitted without proper vetting.
