Pope Leo Warns AI Risks Must Be Taken Seriously
Bareen Media – Pope Leo XIV has warned that concerns over the potential dangers of artificial intelligence should be taken seriously, saying they should not be dismissed as “fake news.”
Speaking to reporters on his return to Rome from France, Leo called for continued research, dialogue, and safeguards to ensure AI does not reach a point where it could threaten humanity.
His remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed concerns about the dangers of AI as a “hoax.” Trump is also preparing to meet technology leaders to discuss the balance between AI innovation and government regulation.
