Attacks claimed by anti-Taliban resistance groups across Afghanistan more than doubled in October compared with the previous month, according to a report published by the Long War Journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The groups claimed responsibility for 82 attacks targeting Taliban positions and members in different parts of Afghanistan during October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the report, the attacks involved improvised explosive devices, rocket and mortar strikes, ambushes, and targeted killings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reported incidents took place in 21 provinces, including Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Takhar, Kabul, Bamiyan, Panjshir, Herat, Nangarhar and Ghazni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resistance groups claimed that 122 Taliban members were killed and another 68 wounded in the attacks. These casualty figures have not been independently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Afghanistan United Front, led by former Afghan army commander Sami Sadat, claimed responsibility for 36 operations, the highest number among the groups mentioned in the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, led by Ahmad Massoud, claimed 11 attacks, while the Afghanistan Freedom Front, led by former army chief Yasin Zia, claimed responsibility for 10 operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The military wing of the Green Trend, associated with former Afghan vice-president Amrullah Saleh, also claimed eight attacks during the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report further identified several smaller opposition groups claiming operations in different provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
