He said he had suffered several wounds and was initially on the cockpit floor as the aircraft entered a steep descent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite his injuries, Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew members to enter and restrain the attacker. The flight, carrying 182 people, was then diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it made an emergency landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The co-pilot, an Omani national, was arrested in Saudi Arabia.
