UNICEF: Safe Water Can Help Prevent Waterborne Diseases Among Children
Bareen Media – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says access to safe water can help protect children from diseases caused by contaminated water.
UNICEF said in a post on X on Sunday, October 4, that a child named Ahmad walks a long distance each day to collect water from an unsafe pond beside a road.
The agency said efforts to improve access to safe water are continuing with support from the South Korean Foreign Ministry.
UNICEF said providing clean and safe water, particularly for children, can reduce the risk of waterborne diseases.
The agency stressed that access to safe water is a basic need for protecting the health of children and families.
