Four Killed, Including Three Children, in Shooting at Oregon Elementary School

Four people, including three children and a teacher, were killed in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday, October 15, according to authorities.

According to CNN, citing law enforcement sources, the suspected shooter was a 16-year-old boy who was also killed during the incident. Police said the first emergency call reported gunfire directed at a vehicle outside the school, followed by reports that someone had entered the school and opened fire.

Authorities said at least two other people were taken to hospital. The circumstances surrounding the suspect’s death remain under investigation, including who fired the shot that killed him.

The FBI joined local law enforcement in investigating the shooting. School officials arranged for students to reunite with their families at a designated location as emergency crews responded to the scene.

Security officials have not yet announced a motive for the attack.
