US ties Sudanese army leader’s UN visa to ceasefire plan
Bareen Media – Fox News reports that Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has taken a tougher position toward Washington after the United States did not grant him a visa to travel to New York.
The report says the U.S. is pressing Sudan’s army and the Rapid Support Forces to accept a 90-day humanitarian ceasefire and begin political talks.
A senior adviser to Burhan said Sudan had not rejected the U.S. proposal but had raised concerns about how it would be implemented.
The war between Sudan’s army and the Rapid Support Forces has continued since April 2023, causing mass displacement and a major humanitarian crisis.
