22-Year-Old Bride Shot Dead During Wedding in Kandahar
Bareen Media – A 22-year-old bride was shot dead during a wedding ceremony in Dand district of southern Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, according to local sources.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, September 26, in the Emarat area of the district.
Sources said a 32-year-old man identified as Abdul Wahid, the groom’s maternal uncle, opened fire during a dispute and shot the bride, identified as “Kafia”. He later reportedly died by suicide.
The exact reason for the dispute remains unclear. Local sources said an argument may have started over vehicles passing through the area.
